Wagons with hay bales for seats on the way to pick pumpkins.

Nick went on a field trip with his class.  The trip was to Oakes Farm in Corryton, TN.  It took about an hour to get there.  There were many things to do, slides, jumping pillow, corn maze and a petting zoo.  The kids were allowed to run around for about two hours and then went on a hayride to pick pumpkins.  Nick and I ended up bringing four large pumpkins home!  It was a nice day, sunny and a little windy.

Nicklas & “Annie Get Your Gun”

by on Oct.26, 2011, under Nicklas, October 2011

Nicklas was a prop boy and flag bearer for the Tellico Village Players rendition of Annie Get Your Gun. Being that he appeared on stage, he needed make-up…and we got it on video!

The video file is LARGE and may take a minute to buffer and start playing….and you still may need to press play. You’ve been warned….

Battle of the Bridge

by on Sep.16, 2011, under August 2011, Michaela, Nicklas

Nicklas & Michaela went to Loudon High School to see the 2011 Battle of the Bridge.  Because of the rivalry that exists between the two Loudon County High Schools, this game is a well attended game – to say the least.  Loudon ended up winning the game…but no one is really sure how much of it Nicklas saw.  Because, as we seem to have forgotten from our high school years, going to the football game is not about the game.  It’s a social event….

Here is WBIR’s wrap of the game:

The Martin Family Visit…

by on Aug.01, 2011, under August 2011, Brenna, General, July 2011, Nicklas

CJ, Martha and Logan came into town to celebrate John’s 70th birthday and J&C’s 45th wedding anniversay.  They got in on Thursday the 28th in the evening.  Friday was spent hanging out at Mimi and Papa’s house and then a trip to the beach.

Logan, Brenna and Nicklas finished the day at the beach by building a sand castle of sorts.

After the beach and a clean up, it was back to Mimi and Papa’s house for dinner and dessert.  Of course, we had to watch the traditional family get together movie….National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation……

On Saturday, it was a lazy day and church.  Then a trip to the Tellico Village Yacht Club for a nice dinner and presents.  Sunday was spent visiting at Paul and Michaela’s.  A very nice weekend.

Cars II

by on Jul.08, 2011, under Brenna, July 2011, Michaela, Nicklas

Brenna, Nicklas, & Michaela went to see Cars II Thursday, July 7th.  They all enjoyed the movie but aren’t really allowed to talk about it – at least while Paul is around – as Paul hasn’t seen it yet, wants to, and doesn’t want to deal with a spoiler!
